Vehicles in Germany's Town Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Authorities reported they were alerted by a individual who noticed a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Approximately 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then located many other marked cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; authorities are not yet aware of any injuries in association with the incident," they added.

Local authorities said they were working "to resolve the case" and have asked to the community for details.

A high-ranking political figure said the vandalism left him without words and had to be addressed quickly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
